Outdoor Living

It’s the time of year of limited daylight and cold temps. Historically known as my least favorite six months. But now that I embrace my outdoor space long into the fall and winter months, it makes the days between the end of summer and beginning of spring seem much shorter. For that I am grateful! Pardon my Thanksgiving pun :)

A simple swap of seasonal pillows, and the addition of cozy blankets and pine cone shaped candles, suddenly gives our deck a cozy and inviting vibe. (Electric heated throw blankets are incredibly effective outdoors!) The greenery and string lights hung above the seating area adds holiday charm. Our propane fire table is a year-round gem, but especially appreciated on these colder days. In the summer months I have an area rug here, but I pulled it in for winter since our deck is not protected from the elements. If yours is, I highly encourage you to add a seasonally appropriate rug in as well.

Perhaps my favorite part of outdoor living in the colder months is the warm, spiked cider I sip while curled up under my blanket gazing up at the stars. Instead of letting your outdoor space become a “dead zone” for half of the year, try these simple steps to maximize its potential and livability.
